Lang Baan Website

Lang Baan is an award-winning Thai restaurant in Portland, Oregon.

My work on this project included: Creative Direction, UX Design, Graphic Design, and Photography

“Langbaan” translates as “back of the house,” which is where you’ll find this fixed-menu hideaway (it’s in the back room of the owner’s premier restaurant, Paa Dee). Lang Baan contributes a very special presence to the already amazing Portland food landscape, and was voted the “2014 Restaurant of the Year” by Portland Monthly Magazine

Earl Ninsom (owner) needed a website that made menus easily accessible, booking reservations a snap, and that simplified his staff's workflow. The website also needed to give a compelling sense of the culture and experience of dining at Lang Baan.

These are a couple of my hand drawn wireframes from the planning phase of this project.

Mood Boards

The mood boards consisted of photos I took of the restaurant's interior. The intention was to create an impression of how dining at Lang Baan feels, & these photos inspired the visual design.
